Could the wrong switch cause buzzer/light to go off?

Hi,

Recently had the oil pressure switch changed due to an oil leak on my T25 1989 High Top van, if the mechanic has fitted the wrong one would that possibly be the cause of the oil light and buzzer warning going off now? everything was fine before the change was done and oil leak sorted?

yes or he made a bad connection afterwards

diesel or petrol?

if petrol do you know which switch was changed there are two one underneath one at the rear?

does the oil light come on when you turn the ignition one position and go out when you start?

normally the buzzer only on come on over 2000 rpm revs is that the case?

It's the one located in the back near the push rods?, she's petrol, yes light is fully out to start with, then both light and buzzer kick in after revs go up….approx5-10 mins of driving her.
can't get hold of mechanic to see what the devil one he fitted at the mo but just wondering whether it's the switch thats caused the light and buzzer to suddenly come on?

I'm also totally confused which switch to get hold of? i know it was an original black one which was replaced, and I want to order the right one and take it to the mechanic and ask him to out it in coz he had a hell of a time getting the sold one out, he seemed really hacked off that it was a case of getting under her and taking off various pieces as it's quite a tight space to go into, but I can only put it down to the fact that it's the switch coz it solved the oil leak but then all this started?

Ok question I asked was is the light on with ignition in position 1 i.e not running but ignition on?
if it is nothing wrong with that switch it's more likely bad connection on the other switch which triggers the buzzer above 2000 rpm

I would be buying my own parts in future.
If you can't do things for yourself, then trust yourself to buy quality parts from reputable suppliers at least!
