Have a strange hankering to completely remake/manufacture a loom for my 2.1 for no other reason than i can (oh, and also the loom is 25 yrs old and full of corrosion )
making a pin board up in next few weeks.
Anyone else done it, got links, pics etc?

Re: New loom?
I was talking to a chap a couple of years ago at the Slough swapmeet as he was selling new looms for bays and splits,I asked if he had done one for a T25 and he said no but thought it would cost around a grand to make one!

Re: New loom?
You can still buy a lot of looms new from vw. Many many configurations though.

Re: New loom?
if a replacement was made I wonder how much cable could be removed that are not required for "your"van,do they fit extra cables for different markets/engines etc that are not needed and can be removed also if thin wall cable is used that must make a difference for weight and ease of fitting?

Re: New loom?
Just curious how many different colour combination wires are there on a standard t25 loom?

Wasn't to clear in OP.
Just going to remake whole engine bay loom, everything engine side of the multiplugs etc in black box. Will take pics and let you know how I get on. Reckon there's less than £100 in it using all new cable and terminals but using oe junior power timer plugs etc (have a small ultrasonic cleaner I can put them through once terminals are out)
When you consider cost of new AFM, TB etc it's got to be worth it having something not full of corrosion
