autosleeper vt20
Been looking at different layouts for ages, its actually for my t4, but i love the u shaped bed arrangement, thing is after liads of web searching i still cant figure out how the bed works, is it on a rock n roll type mechanism?
Thanks.

No. Just 2 boards attached with hinges that get lifted out and then laid flat for the bed position and lifted up and "settled" into the upright, seated position. The upright position is maintained by a batten which stops the base moving forward and 2 "bathroom door" type bolts (great design, eh ) holding the backrest in place.

I'm glad you replied before me, Jane. You've saved me having to remember how the VT20 pull out bed works. I sold my VT20 in 2010 after I bought my LWB T4 camper. The T4 has an Auto-Sleepers pull out bed in it but I wish it had a rock & roll bed. The only advantage with the VT10 bed is that it's full width rather than the more common 3/4 width.

Yep. I love the layout of the van, but the bed is a major pain in the bum, if I am honest

I have considered looking to see if the bed could be made into a rock n roll by using the hinges you can buy......
Might as well take this opportunity to see if anyone thinks it would work. Anyone?

I'm planning on making a few improvements to the way my bed is fixed in place this coming week. As for the hinges I'll have a look see if I can come up with something

Re: autosleeper vt20
Thanks for the input guys, unfortunately ive come to realise that my t4 has less living space than my old t25. The u shaped layout may go at a push but leave sod all room for anything else!. Back to the drawing board i think but after much consideration i have actually bought a t25 rock n roll and will make a platform behind it, better use of space i think than a t4 bed!, at least ill have a decent boot
