Pop Out Rear Windows

Post by Ceecee85 »

Perhaps my terminology is wrong so bear with me but is it possible to fit pop out windows in the rear of the T25. By this I mean ones that are hinged on the leading edge and unclip at the trailing edge and push out by 3 or 4 inches (like the old Renault 5 if that helps anyone still unclear!)?
Perhaps they were available in the upper spec Caravelles etc. but I have a Trasnporter that's had the windows cut in so it'd be an after market exchange.
Any leads from anyone?

I searched a couple of years ago for the very same, no such thing I'm afraid I was hoping for an electric version ala corrado.
Mind you depending on your fabrication skills or the depth of your pockets nothing is impossible.

There were ones designed with a vent at the rear but think they're SA models - would make sense.

Nope. Later Caravelles had the vent up until the last syncros in 1992.
SA's only ever had a 3rd slider on the offside (all years), whether small- or big-window (1991- on). Slider/near side always fixed for safety. Big window buses didn't have the vent in the glass aperture.
1985 Oettinger 3.2 Caravelle RHD syncro twin slider. SA Microbus bumpers, duplex winch system, ARC 7X15 period alloys
