fuel gauge stopped working
Just returned from trip to garage where I had battery bracket welded and carburetta cleaned out and realised the fuel gauge no longer works and the indicator lights (inside) no longer work either.Have checked the fuse s in the glovebox.these things worked before garage trip.Any thing else I can try before ringing them tomorrow.

Re: fuel gauge stopped working
Possibly the white connector behind fuel gauge has come loose, top pod pops off to get access. Or maybe ground connections behind fuse box. Worth a check anyway to rule out.

Connection to the earth or the sender connections

Re: fuel gauge stopped working
Hi, I'm a T25 newbie, so please try to be understanding - I am trying to learn. Recently, my fuel gauge stopped working. It is now stuck way to the left, I'm really hoping it is a fuse or connection issue rather than an issue with the wiring or sender unit. Which fuse is associated with the fuel gauge? I looked at fuse layout in the user manual but cant find it listed there. I'm waiting for my Haynes manual, is it more clearly outlined there? I have a 1987 watercooled petrol, my temp gauge is working, so not the voltage regulator?
BTW, I think I saw a post somewhere that says it is pin 7, is that the same fuse 7 (left to right)? In the manual that is associated with left tail and side lights?

Re: fuel gauge stopped working
The relay plate sends power firstly to the gauge then to the sender where it earths and completes the circuit.
To test the gauge simply earth it, with ign on
If the gauge does not move then there's a connection issue
If it does then your problem lies in the sender, either an earth or a power connector is corroded

Re: fuel gauge stopped working
Thanks for your quick reply Kevtherev, greatly appreciated. I went home yesterday and before started doing anything, pulled out all the fuses one by one and checked them - none of them need replacing. However, once I started the fuel gauge started working again! Still some issues with coolant temperature light which blinks at the start takes some time to go out and my battery light takes some time to go out unless I rev a bit (something to do with it split charging the leisure battery perhaps?), but I'm sure that will be another post in the future from me...
However, I would still like to know how to get to the relay plate(?) which I assume you need to get to earth the fuel gauge, is it behind the fuse box in which case you have to remove the fusebox to get access or behind the dashboard? I removed the dashboard cover and I think I found the brake fluid reservoir, no sign of any connectors? Apologies for all the newbie questions.

Light on temp gauge should flash for a few seconds, that's normal self test. Common for alternator light to stay on until revved, not a problem.
