fitment of swivel base

Post by Gary.pb »

I am looking at fitting a swivel base to my van. I have managed to find somebody who is selling a genuine westfalia seat base, however after researching a little bit it appears that you also need a base panel welded to the original runners to fix the seat base to. Is this right??? Mine isn't a westfalia but I was hoping the base would fit my standard seats. Can the seat swivel base be used without the base plate??

Any help will be greatly appreciated

The swivel base should have 2 plates, the lower one either bolts into the runners or is welded between them. Once cut out they may need strips of steel on either side to make them fit again (depending how they were cut out) ... I went a step further and had both of mine adapted so they both bolt in.
