Hi,
New to the camper world,
When I got my van it has two batteries and apparently a split charge system under the passenger seat.
It also has a plug on the side for am240 hook up.
Just few questions I have,
How do I know if the split charge is working..... How can I test it i know how to test a normal car battery I.e across the terminals.... Is it the same
Does it charge the main battery and then the second.
I have a new leak sure battery from a friend can, use thins the camper on its own and swap it to the split charge to charge it .
Does the 240 hook up charge the batteries also ?
Any help appreciated

Yes. Start it up, you might need to give it a brief rev to get the light to go out, then a multimeter across the terminals. If it's charging, you'll get ~14v.

It just connects the two, so both are charged simultaneously.

Yes.

Depends. It will almost certainly charge the leisure battery. The starter battery's less likely, unless it's a Westy with the original buzzing black box still fitted under the bed, in which case it will.
