Can any one tell me what type of automatic tramsmission oil is used for a 1990 1.9 Petrol ?
Also, how much?
Wiki says 3L and then someone also added an extra 2.5 L for a total of 5.5L, but didn't mention the type (ie: Dextron II or III)
Just wondered if someone knew for sure
cheers

Re: 1.9 l Automatic Trans.Oil
The current ATF when your van was manufactured would have been Dexro IID so II or III would be OK. The current Dexron ATF is VI. All Dexron ATF's are backwards compatible. I have the October 1987 edition of the workshop manual for the 090 automatic gearbox which states:
Initial filling 6 litres. Oil change approx 3 litres.
Check out the club 80-90 post Re T25 Automatic (#p7647202) by Rob on July 6 2011. This gives the proceedure for checking the ATF level. Do not overfill.
Hope this is of some help.
