Re: France - any suggestions for a month road trip?
Why not visit France a bit earlier and see some of the Tour De France.
I am taking bicycles and friend and staying near St Malo for the 2nd week in July.
Yes it will be a bit busier but a great atmosphere.

Would LOVE to but I am a teacher so stuck to the summer holidays. Not complaining as the holidays are good but sadly can never get to events like that until retirement

I tried the code earlier today for a second trip and it no longer worked. Now the website calendar has gone bonkers.

Re: France - any suggestions for a month road trip?
I live in France and it varies widely from region to region, i would suggest first you see what you want, eg do you have kids and want beaches for the kids? So stick coastal or paris for parc asterix or euro disney to keep them happy. Or surfing the southwest Biarritz, hossegor. Like cities maybe Paris of course. If you like the countryside maybe the loire valley or the dordogne. If you like mountains and gorges and sports maybe the ardeche region or the alps. If you want beaches glitz and glam, mountains maybe the cote d'azur, or just beaches with rural frAnce not to far away the vendee or languedoc.
It varies so much and all areas are beautiful, of course depends how far you want to drive as france is huge, but further south hotter and more guarantee of the sun but can get hot in july august late 30's so can get too hot for some and me too although I live here lol
Good look and enjoy it as said is so varied each day and each region is so different which makes it magical.
