Ladder attachment

Post by rubarb »

Just bought a tailgate ladder and wonder what the best way to secure it is. Would self tappers be strong enough or is there a better solution?
Thanks Alan

depends on the specific ladder you got, picky ?? but nut and bolt/screw, with a rubber type gasket would be my choice

If you use short 8 or 10 bolts at the bottom, take the inside trim off, and you should have just enough thread to get a washer and nut on them, inside the door itself. At the top, use rivnuts 6 or 8.

Thanks. Got no.8 rivnuts and if I can get good access I may go with the bolts. Just waiting for a second pair of hands to mark things out
