cleaning seat covers on Westy

Post by igotadizzy »

Morning All, the oily bit is now over (thanks Mike) and now me (Mary) is going to do the inside, Does anyone have any ideas on how to clean the bench seat covers as they don't come off.

Also the back cushions which do come off are they washable or dry clean. I can't find any cleaning instructions on them.

Looking forward to taking out Gunther at long last ( it's been 2 weeks now!!!).

Will post some pictures as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
Mary :)

Hi,

Not sure about the bench seat!! I'd like to know the best way to clean it, if anybody knows, but I have washed the back cushion.

I looked for washing instructions, but couldn't find any, so I washed the cover in the washing machine. It was a quick wash on a low temp. Came out fine and is looking nice and shiny in the back of our van (also smells a lot sweeter)! :D

I was lucky that the weather was lovely when I did it, so was able to dry it on the line - not sure I would risk tumble drying it, as it could shrink?!

Hope this helps.

Thanks Suzy, I will wash it in the machine but will wait until we at last get some dry weather.
