Poll: What is the state of your VC ? Moot...

Post by HarryMann »

Seeing as it seems to be Question Time; Create a List Time, Establish a Truth, Survey the unserveyable...

I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone the question (and SyncroPaddy will hopefully offer to record, and report the results... )...

What (in your opinion) is the state of your VC ?

Proposed poll questions:-

1) Think its normal, perfect, par for the course. I am experienced and I know its a good'un;

2) definitely getting tight, pulls well off-road, but getting heavy when maneouvring (esp. if hot);

3) loose, floppy as a floppy thing, no serious traction from front (or erratic front traction), get stuck on a gentle wet grass slope;

4) solid shaft, so ha, ha, ha, I decouple, you decouple, he decouples, they decouple (any one will do);

5) I love the survey, but am too dim to pick one of the above, so count me as uncountable, indeterminate VC.

Don't vote yet, I can set up a proper vote asap, just anyone want to comment on the questions first,. have I missed anything do we need a sixth option?

and if I setup a poll, the SPad won't need to stay up late compounding the compendium of interpretations, it'll all come out in the wash (hopefully :wink: )

What about a 1a) "Passed the 4X2 test but not so experienced; all seems to be working OK though"

or just "failed open" (its happened to me as you know Clive)

or "need advice re testing to be abosolutely sure".

All of these have been relevant to me over the last two years as I get to grips with Syncro ownership so might be for other new owners.

1 for me too, although mine was tight when I first got my Syncro, but has now eased, and is running as it should.

I have a rear locker which is currently not working, but now the good weather is here I will be following the wiki on getting it working, and hope its just a blocked pipe.

Sporty?

Perhaps slightly tight but doesnt worsen after long use,
in fact I notice it most when its just taking off from cold on full lock,
can just hear the tyres trying to break away,
and only then next to a wall with the windows open,
other than that it passes all the VC tests..

Could be a number one?

But I had thought there might be grades of natural stiffness.
It handles the slippery stuff very well indeed as it is.
