hi all
i have a t25 camper van with a cs model 1.6d non turbo engine fitted. the engine is goosed(running on its own oil).
i have looked on the the forum and have seen you can fit an aaz engine in its place, do these engines have to be fitted with the turbo or can this be removed without any further mods.
i am only considering removel of the turbo as it looks like its more work to fit with turbo i.e adding an intercooler etc, and a na 1.9 engine would be fine for my purpose.
cheers duff
i also have options on the following engines if anyone knows if these will also replaced th cs model
ahu frm a golf
ahu audi a4

engine replacment aaz
The engine you need is called a 1Y. It's a 1.9 diesel engine and is a pretty easy swap. Loads of info on here and brickyard about this swap.
Good luck

Watch out when redrilling the dipstick. Get a good seal, brazing an option?
