Subaru dash instruments in T25

Post by discostu117 »

Hi,

Not sure if I should have posted in alternative engines but I am getting a Subaru engine installed in my T25 and just wondered if anyone has heard of the Subaru dash being used to replace the VW instrumentation?

My existing cluster has had ongoing issues so if the Subaru dash isn't usable then I will just need to keep my eyes out for a replacement PCB for a bit more reliability.

Thanks,

Stu

stick with vw genuine dash and fit some auxillary gauges to monitor engine health. water temp, oil pressure/temp for instance.

It can and has been done, RJES' mate has one in his STi powered bus. Best to ask on the VWKD forum

Thanks for your replies. I'll check out VWKD.

Are the auxiliary gauges fairly straight forward to fit once you have the correct wiring running to the dash? I presume you could add a auxiliary rev counter as well as the other engine readings.

Cheers,

the genuine vw clocks with rev counter are easy to modify so rev counter works. Cost me £1 for 2 resistors and 1/2 hour to strip, solder and refit dash. Can send instructions if needed.
