Re: 2.1 MV Rebuild DG case!!!
OK so now we can start her up and she will sort of tickover a bit after a few revs, Once driving she is great but I reckon we have a lazy tappet as I am getting a loud tick and some strange exhaust noises. The more I have driven her the better it has got but on resetting the tappets again yesterday cylinder 1 and 2 were great but three had a squidgy exhaust tappet and 4 had a squidgy inlet tappet. I will take her to wales this week and see how things are after another 400 miles. Definately a bit more power running at 10 degrees timing at present. Might even be able to overtake the odd tractor!!

Just a thought, you have MV in the title but if I'm right your pics are showing DJ pistions
any chance of changing the title so idiots like me don't get confused which piston is which, think I may have just accidently bought MV pistons after looking at your pics and thinking they were MV

Well there are two obvious ways to tell the difference. Big bowl with a big hump = MV
Flatter shallow bowl like a dg but with a small round bump in the middle = DJ
Or, if they were much less than £400 a set then they're not DJ!

Thanks I know that now!
These were used and out of a DJ so somebody must have swapped them before.
New DJ re 400 quid a set, no idea what used go for.
