Finally had a day welding etc! ITS BEEN PAINTED!!!!

Front arch and cab step today, oops!

Cut all the arch out and had to take a chunk out the b pillar too

Fully welded up patches before smoothing back

Nowt a skim of filler wont cure! But least its gonna be solid under the 2mm max filler!

Final main bit done!!

Just got a little patch underneath, small repair to sliding door, and either repair the back door or find a newer one! Hope to have it near to paint time in a couple of weeks, need to wait till payed to redo the gearbox input seal (and change clutch!)

That is a great job you made. I wished I could weld like that. Mine is just like baking an egg for the first time without butter.

Whilst Im waiting on a clutch kit being made and sent from Germany :shock: thought I ought to make a start on the interior!

Started today like this:

Basic frame, gas locker in and test fit worktop:

New smart as feck Smev 3 burner and sink slotted in (venturing into the westy world of no grill, tho never used the one we had!)

Tomorrow the partitions will be made between the cupboards and start making the doors etc, glad made a router table last week will make making the panel doors loads easier!

Cheers mate :ok When I got out the Army I looked into opening up a restoration place, me on mechanic and some interior bits , my dad on interiors and paperwork (hate that stuff) But the cost of units and set up would have been to much! So now I fit it in around fixing gert big railway loco's!

James, I think you should offer your welding services to everyone on here. You'd be fully booked!

Hurry up and get the van sorted so we can all see it! Just make sure you spell it right or people will be booking you for weddings! (forgive me, I hope we get on well enough for me to take the P*ss cause you've done it enough to me!!) :rofl
