Re: The GASWAGON (act III)
Well cleaned these up to refit
i have taken templates so can now offer them in 1.5mm steel.
i questioned wether they do any good and can confirm that with them in place and the outer wing cut away i was suprised how mmuch rigidity they gave to the inner panel, i then removed them and it was just floppy,so yes they do stiffen it up considerably and no doubt vw in their wisdom thought so too
os flap refurbished and fitted
it is now very well mounted and secure
mix of fresh mushroom pasta and savoury mince pie (my local as the prop is italian and knows how to cook )
cooler back out to finalise stuff in here
flap fitted
note the bracket now fixes to the lug i added to the cowl
Si continued the theme by using very nice cap heads here
very minimal rubber coat added along the under siide edges so its not really seen
onwards we go

Re: The GASWAGON (act III)
Well you enjoy "hanging" around today
made the new one look like a new one even though it had to be repainted and treated
slight work needed on the hole placement eeeeelongations
but now fitted and looks really good , the rubber straking strip really suits
now when you start hooking up your caravan, try to get it right and not do the same to the new bumper, yes i know the rubber strip will help but......
shed damage
now there are the swan neck tow bars and there are these
the vw bumpers is for the former so i had to modify to fit,not a lot but enough to clear. so what should have been an hours work turned into 2. live and learn
getting there nicely
dream of hols, pepper and onion picked a minute ago along with toms and courgettes + fresh pasta,
but slumming it here still no site fees
