i like good service....
yesterday aft i ordered the following toys and they came 5 mins ago

Image
taps are not presto quality but are good enough for cleaning up threads... in this case westy towbar (M12x1.5)
and the small chuck stock is for getting into all the smaller areas for likewise cleaning up threads prior to refitting

Shame on the bumper, not what you expect from a genuine part, but hey at least it will fit on nice and has the cutouts for towbar ect. Just a bugger some scrote dragged it along the floor before wrapping it!
Nice to see the wheel carrier broken down, maybe people other than me will be able to open it now

well tis always in my hands so to speak, refitting is going on at my mates as there is underbody treatments ongoing etc, whilst i do the pretty stuff,
yes its a nice satin, very even as he did a nice job with fine blast abrasive. those clips came today for the under guard and wash bottle,ta
the lower seams(outer sills for instance )have been brushed with dilute sika for protection, it worked well as the joins etc are still visible

Well
this is about the best i can find of the sika on the lower sill seam
Image
this is prior to recoating and then a fine coat of stonechip to the same area just under the sill
i will see if i have one of the rear panel with an inch applied
Image
there you go
the joy of the powder coat is that it gets into everywhere
Image
just a quick run through with a tap and its good,i use a touch iof coppaslip on the threads then life is easy in the future if it needs to come off
here you can just make out the panelguard at the bottom
Image
sort of looks nicer with a light fitted, the screws will be changed when all is confirmed working ok
Image
towbar fitted, satin black looks nice against the blue
Image
guess the area time ? :D
Image
booth lights have screwed the color ,wekll on my camera anyhow
Image
but its big,blue and shiny
Image
juicy front end to fit up after all the cavity treatment whilst stuff is off, will remove the dash again to get right in there, also easy whilst the glass is out.
Speaking of which.....
i have opened the wooden crate .serious,,will picky it tomoz and cleaned up the lovely tinted glass :D but have issues with the 1/4 lights.
lower fixing through the glass was seized on both original units so judicious heat via a no1 jet and it freed off and the glass survived !
Image
Image
so that is out the way, new seals to be used and they are veewib and very nice quality
but the locking lever/catch is another matter
Image
cap off/disintegrated and what to do with this....i would have to use heat and this would very likely shatter the glass, so its either new catches and leave these as is, they work fine or riskj the glass and there is no guarantee they will actually come off, i favor getting a pair of new ones
got some nice waterproof rivets (ex march)
Image
for a couple of the neat items that need securing like the westy log on the towbar :D

guess the area...... offside wheel arch, looking down? looks awesome by the way :ok

as for the 1/4 light catch, what part do you actually need? i just looked up the chrome handle thing and they are £79 each!
http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Lef ... tartPage=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if its something else, do you want to have a look at this page and see if you see it
http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_parts_Type ... D_2143.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if it is that £79 part, i will buy today if needed. But that clear glass isnt worth £160, so would it help to smash the glass to get them out?

well jollies again
Image
70psi into awkward spaces, the bliddy dinitrol got everwhere,
even forced its way out here
Image
Image
warmed it up first as well so it really seeps into everwhere
Image
dash back in after treating behind, messy as there was a bit of drift :rofl
have reblacked the dash, and it has even seeped up between the upper front panel seam where the screen seel fits over
Image
receiver back on, it would benefit from a pair of SS cap heads at a later date
Image
this shows the fine stonechip on the very underside
Image
seams have worked out very nice too
Image
no sign of the part let in thankfully
Image
will black the arm /jp mount
Image
unless you prefer blue?
its will really be set of when the spats go back on
Image
black and blue
Image
ive reset SS studs in them , should work .well nothing to loose as they had big tappers through them etc and they are €1000 a pop
Image
mm :D
