In one word... Yes.

Having read that, I'd say you should now strip and use the Mk 1 eyeball, puffer, vacuum etc.

Just try to use the exact fit screwdriver heads for each of the screws and particularly the jets. You often can remove covers carefully and replace without damage to gaskets, but you should either have the basic ones or know where you can get a set easily and quickly.

Also, note that it may just be likely, that you are clearing the fault, only to have more muck enter.. ( so eventually a thorough check upstream may be necessary, including the tank) so be careful with any conclusions, until you are sure. Good luck...

Ok, if you can use a socket on the outside of a particular screw head, rather than using a screwdriver, then try to, reducing damage.
A 1/4" socket set with all the torx, allen hex and cross-head screwdriver bits, and sockets up to 12 or 13mm usually fits the bill for carburettor work.

A very thin, long needle or screwdriver can be useful for fishing visible 'bits' out of deep wells. Don't fish inside a brass jet though. A thin clean cloth is probably better than paper towels for wiping out carb parts, as the paper can separate and get in unwanted places.

Keep an eye out for water, at the bottom of cavities. A small degree of very fine silt in the wells, particularly the float chamber is expected.

..and have a quick look before blowing anything out.
