I’ve been in correspondence with Mark Pluygers of Dream-Drive in the Netherlands with a view to the most cost effective way to gain a little more torque and power for my 1.9DG T25. His view, which I’m going to discuss with him next week before he goes on holiday is to upgrade to a 2.1 MV or DJ whilst retaining the Pierburg carb and inlet. He says that Dream-Drive have plenty of stock with regard to 2.1 engines. He also suggests an engine cost of 6,500 euros!
I don’t know what the equivalent from campershack would be.
Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?

As not to hijack the thread, i can recommend the Marco Mansi rockers if you're looking for a little more pep for your DG - my thread is here:

Standard reconditioned 2.1 is still under £5k, and if we have a good set of DJ pistons available it could be around £4500.
I can still get brand new OEM DJ pistons, but they add an extra £400.
I have new 2.1 cams being made right now, delivery imminent. Endfloat shims are available in several sizes again (after years of NLA). So effectively all the important renewable parts are available. The biggest problem for me now is finding good late cases that haven't been line bored, or have other issues. I am also very short of 76mm (2.1) crankshafts. The trouble is that I used to do lots of upgrades from DG to DJ/MV, so ran out of good cranks. I now have to ask for a like for like exchange in rebuildable condition, or charge a £500 surcharge.
So if anyone wants an upgrade, scratch around to find a 2.1 that needs a rebuild and I'll happily take it as your exchange. Or if anyone has a 76mm crank (std or good -0.25 mains) they want to sell??? I'm happy to chat with anyone to discuss their engine options.

I would be interested to know when your cams get delivered and the price, I've heard good things...
this is a hobby not a project, projects have a budget and timescale

What's special or important about the late case, hows it identified?

Re: Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?
Late case can be identified by the B suffix on the part number cast into it on each side under where the pushrod tubes sit. Also has a second oil switch on front under water pump.
It's important because of clearance inside for the longer stroke 2.1 crank, and main bearing availability.
