You can also use a gear puller
VW T3/T25 and Syncro Gearbox rebuilds

Hub shaft out OK without any damage. Everything stripped down and cleaned up. Got the sheared ends out of the hub shaft without damage and ran a tap through the holes to keep the threads clean. Could have had it all sorted this weekend but the CV was totally mullered so waiting for an HD one from Holmfirth. Considering what I thought was the problem this time last week this is an all round result. Roll on the Picos!!
