It's the original mat'l spec & post heat treatment that is indeterminate, surely, and that's the crucial and expensive bit. CAD machining and an exact copy shouldn't be the problem, though sounds like it already is

Any update on the cheap CV joints? Mines clicking badly again! Im now too far away from tools to do it myself so im considering trying a cheapo joint and paying the local garage to fit it, which will still be cheaper than the normal one.

Thanks!

Right thats the crucial one cost-wise, £27 is about what the proper rears used to cost years ago. Like i said, don't think looks can tell you much about the post hardening heat-treatment. A sledge hammer and a brave man with a cold chisel might though

Why bother Si,
You know these cheap items are cr*p! The reason I order from u is that I know i will get quality!
If I want cheap there is plenty of other vendors but quality parts thats harder to find!

Just my 2ct

Was about to write the same but was beaten to it. So seconded!....Not sure why you are even considering having a second quality. I am in the engine spares business and for sure we would never consider anything but quality, they can go elswhere for "cheap" then come back in the end.
.................At least you still have them on the shelf
