Hub nut currently soaked in plusgas. Didn’t budge when I put my full weight on a 5ft scaffold pole…

Haven’t been keeping up to date…

Cracked off the hub nut after soaking in plugs for several days, applying heat, and then sitting on the scaffold pole and whacking with a hammer!

Removed the brake drum - just slid off easily
Image

Then onto the hub carrier nuts - again several days soaking and a 750mm breaker bar. Then the cv bolts - Allen headed - one rounded - got it to let go with a smackable impact driver.

The van is only lifted an inch on axle stands as that’s the only clearance I have for the garage door :-(. So I cut off the trailing arm
Image
Before attacking the bolts with a cutting disc. Here’s the bore for the bush on the outer mount - missing entirely
Image

Then after reading Adie’s Procrastinating thread, I started tackling the sill.

Priority is to preserve the cover plate (NLA) and the roller channel that’s fixed to the top of the outer sill and to the underside of the cover plate. Inspired by Adie claiming his cover plate just “popped off” I started locating and drilling the spot welds.

Days later I grabbed my grinder and a stack of cutting discs.Image

Part of the outer sill

A wee look above the rear jp - double skinned bodywork here, evidence of a "pooh" repair.
Image

After more cutting, sill mostly out.
Image

Et voila
Image

Sacrificed part of the front outrigger, but that’s not a problem. The main thing is I’ve kept the cover plate and roller guide intact. Here’s the roller track starting to wear through… seen from underneath.
Image

Here’s the rear end of the roller track
Image
Yes, it’s gone.

Order to be placed - base of B pillar repair piece, outrigger, inner and outer sill, triangular strengthener for base of C pillar, rear jp, trailing arm etc.

Edge of floor to be remade, B and C pillars to be remade, seatbox to be repaired, outer sill to be attached to roller guide, etc etc.

Blimey, that's one heck of a job. Well done you for tackling it.
