Afternoon all.
I’m having to re-do the EHU electrics as the original German-made 230V RCD/MCB unit (Netzmatic) no longer works. The unit doesn’t seem to have ever been earth bonded so I’m having to run one in for the replacement unit & wiring.
Where have people picked up their earths from? Are there factory points on the chassis I could use? The unit is behind the drivers seat at the moment but I may be able to relocate to the rear wardrobe also on the drivers side.
Thanks

Re: Earth for EHU consumer unit
It doesn't matter where the earth connection is as long as it's good quality ie mechanically sound, resistant to corrosion and obviously a good electrical connection. The wire should be short and protected against damage.
If in any doubt at all, get a qualified electrician involved.

I'm not a sparkie so take my advice with lots of suspicion...
But my thinking is your van is insulated from the earth by four rubber tyres.
Your hookup cable has an earth terminal so I would make sure that is bonded to the body of the van. And make sure any breaker you fit has a double pole switch on it just in case you ever venture across the channel where sometimes you will find live and neutral swapped round.
