Adjustments to fridge panel fit

Post by RogerT »

Fitting a new ‘fridge’ panel, but because of work already done on B and C pillars I’ve got a 2+ mm gap between the bottom half of the fridge panel and the C pillar.

My first idea is to clamp the flange of the fridge panel into a shaped former (but proud by a couple of mm) and gently dress it down thereby moving the fold for the flange. But I’d welcome other suggestions or warnings?

I’ve the same issue with the outer sill I think, so I’ll try the technique with that first. it didn’t cost me £195 so it’s going to be a cheaper mistake

What about adding a bead of weld to the b pillar .

E D I T
Or the c pillar, or both. If it really is just 2 mm maybe it’s best to let the seam be a bit wider where it wants
to rather than risking distorting anything .

Very wise. Why worry about a wide seam.
