What should I do with these hubcaps?

Post by AlBundy »

I have a set of 4 vw badged hubcaps, they aren't in great condition, and i really want to restore them to some level of former glory. I am a bit stuck on what to do though.

Am after ideas for what I can do to make them pretty.

The wheels have just been refurbished too, see pictures for context.

All ideas and experience welcome.

ooh they look gorgeous,
sure they would be desirable.
Probably fund your stainless ones.

I had 4 in slightly better condition.
Took an upholstery hammer to the inside while resting cap on hard rubber mat, buffed them up and was surprised by the outcome. Image
Right is how they looked, Left, just like in Blue Peter, the one I prepared earlier. 8)

I had 4 in similar condition to yours. Bought them cheap secondhand. Just wirebrushed and spraypainted them with standard rim paint. Looks fine from a distance.ImageImageImageImage
