1.9 wbx reving high when warmed up.

Post by Rara72 »

When I start my van after pushing accelerator pedal down once it starts with choke on and the revs slowly decrease over about 5 to 10 mins and sounds lovely.
After driving and pulling upto traffic lights or round abouts the revs seem to be quite fast.

Can the carb be adjusted to drop the revs when upto temp so it's not revving so much?

Maybe worth giving all linkages and visible moveable parts around the carb a dose of carb cleaner spray/ and spray oil, like 3 in 1.

Did you get your high revs sorted out, I have the same symptom now after RAC callout increased the revs, to stop my van from stalling.

If they just altered the idle screw, get it up to temperature on a drive out and just back off the screw a little until you are happy.

Thanks David thats what RAC guy said, please have a look at my problems under "starting engine from cold" which started it all off. Van seems to be working ok now, but only been on short trips.
