Power assisted steering query

Sorry I don’t have many photos of the unit, however, the ones I have of it flited show it attached to plates of steel welded to the subframe (not certain that’s the correct name for it) and the floor the latter of which would have transmitted sound strait into the van. It was also bolted directly to the plates without sound insulation, which would not have helped.
I will speak to Tim to see if it is still attached, and get a better photo if it is.

Casual observation: the long hydraulic hoses required for a rear mounted pump (engine driven or electric) act as a crude radiator to cool the ATF fluid. If you mount an electric one up front (short hoses) you can connect the electric supply close to the main battery so there's less 10mm² cable required.
A rear mounted electric pump can get its supply from the alternator. Swings and roundabouts really.

Well I guess that raises the question; is an oil cooler required?  Bat, did you have one previously installed?

It was fitted when the Subaru EE20 was put in. I don't know if it will be needed for the AHU. however, the rad is available, so it would be a shame not to use it for something.

At least the pump had sound-dampening fixings.

Main, air-con  & intercooler rads, all sandwiched together (sorry not a very good photo).

I think it’s the intercooler or charge cooler pump (sorry don't know the correct name), photographed from a strange angle.

It had this on the other end of the pipes,
