Curtain rail recommendations

Post by mariner »

Hi all. Have been struggling with fitting the JK curtain rails and have now given up!

They fit okay in the main part of the van but I cannot get them to bend and twist to the contours of the cab without either snapping or going out of shape so the sliders don’t slide!

Anyone any recommendations for ones they have fitted in the cab? Ta.

I think you're better off just getting a 'Silver screens ' external cover, insulated and completely opaque.

Are you trying to fit plastic ones? I had metal ones in my van, easy to fit to any contour - if any track needed adjusting if jamming it can be opened or closed slightly easy enough.

Most camper converters for the last 40 years + have used 'Silent Gliss'  top fix aluminium camper/boat curtain track, I even remember these when growing up in a 57 Canterbury Pit splittie :ok and I have them in my T25 around the screen, continuous length from the passenger B post to the corner of the screen on the drivers side and then a straight run to the wardrobe at the back, the downside is that this makes the nearside front curtain bulky because of the length.

Plastic JK rail. Absolute garbage. Previous (original ones) were plastic but better quality - they’d just suffered from time!

With the rest of the van done with the crappy JK don’t really want to do the whole lot again. Probably go with the silver stick on covers I have in the garage. Just irritating as it is the final part of a long makeover.

Thanks for the replies all.

Maybe this or similar? Not used it but would consider when I get to that stage
