Personally I've set them counter clockwise and also clockwise. I find it easier to go counter because one and two are on the same bank so I can do that side, fit the cover then work on three and four. Makes no difference as long as your TDC on whatever cylinder you're doing right? :wink:

There’s more than one procedure, anticlockwise is easier I think
