Good evening, got a 2 ltr cu engine petrol van and problems with the right hand carb. With rocket cover off if I accelerate you can see an explosion of fuel into the carb and a popping sound. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Re: Fuel explosion in carb
Usual suspects are valve timing or too lean a fuel mixture. Start with a bottoms up service. Check your ignition timing, valve clearances, mixture on that carb and you may have a blocked jet in that carb meaning a weak mixture.

As SyncroMatt says, but if the symptom appeared out of the blue it is likely to be a fuel blockage or cut off valve failure.

Re: Fuel explosion in carb
Could be as simple as the carbs needing balancing. Always the starting point for any running or performance issues.
