Hi Andrew
I have been trying without luck to sort it.
The other Andrew from campershack has offered a similar solution, it's probably the coolant flow or lack of it.
About 10yrs one of the part suppliers was almost giving radiators away, I bought one and I've just got it down from the loft.
My plan this week is to remove the old radiator and swop it for the new one.
Take off the bleed ring in the engine bay and flush it, check the long pipes for anything that's restricting them at the joints.
I'll report back once I've completed the task and had a decent run out.
Mark.

Re: High temp 1.9 dg
Today has been mainly laying under the van in a puddle, taking out the old and fitting a new radiator. I spent a couple of hours flushing out the system, still getting some soft limescale bits but the water is clear and no longer cloudy. The old radiator had some sticky siliconey type stuff in it. It's all ready to be filled and bled tomorrow and tested to see if the old lady overheats.

Re: High temp 1.9 dg
I've only gone and fixed it, filled with water and bled using baxters method, it was ticking over on the drive for 40 mins before the fan kicked in. Long test drive some in heavy traffic. The needle stayed 3 or 4mm to the left of the warning light at all times.
Chuffed.
Drain down tomorrow and fill with coolant.

Hi Mark, what’s Baxter’s method? I’ve got a new rad to fit if my van ever comes back from the body shop
