Dellorto 36 install

Post by chrisc23 »

Hi guys I’m sort of new here although I have been sneaking around for a couple of years now and generally finding what I need from the search function. Anyway, I’ve just bought a set of Dell 36’s that I’m going to fit in place of my solex’s on my 82 CU 2.0 Aircooled. Does anyone have any pictures and advice on their install of these. If anyone had jet sizes etc that would be a massive help too. If anyone is interested in the van I have some pics on Instagram on the account @dora_the_t3. Cheers

Can't remember jet sizes as its about 20 years since I had Dellorto 36s on a 2 litre air cooled.  They were good though and we drove to Portugal in that van.

One thing you will need is the shallower air filter elements (about 50 mm I think).  The normal size ones will foul on the engine lid - in fact you wont be able to close the lid.  I think I may have a pair stashed away somewhere...
