Central locking motor
Hi,
Looking to repair a central locking actuator.
The gears and case I can service, just wondering if anyone know what dc motor to use as its rusted solid.
Thanks, Colin

Re: Central locking motor
Found a work around, t4 actuators with a conversion loom. If anyone does find the motor I'd be interested to see if I can get it to work though.
Cheers, Colin

I'm sure I have a couple somewhere. I will have a root in the sheds.

Re: Central locking motor
Bühler motor by the look of it. Like this one ; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325476572379?hash=item4bc7ea5cdb:g:ziwAAOSwtNxjqSl2&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4AX24tMKLoVleQ%2FhXHNX35hhqmzFQGOGSYchTwzGHQ1K0q1OyzdIeUCvOkxKjbYdKDw12j53pm7ItAlauSa4YqD2tMy22SADiFTvVGc%2B3ZOZsp9RpjdxAc4OlP8hCuEgOgTwuhqFE5nY75DR%2FewDrXDT%2FGGJVdBH83ztaNaeWjZtPM5FkypAWKsYQj9XRzgXOqmBSOB3p7Yktr3djaA5rj2gWgyvxlGWImmzUCVQtCo0djBlwQHQeI3ivIfom6VY9OXk1iS4XXpn1bDLsmjjE%2Bnpa2viCyHIDxBtIbhpnUDM%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_yyneTKYg
Problem is - which one, they make hundreds.
I have resurrected ones like that, usually salvageable with new bearings.

Re: Central locking motor
Hard to tell from the picture but it's a squished oval motor. I've had a look online but can't find any with the right dimensions - will post more info tomorrow. Again, I have a work around which I'm happy to use, but would be good to get them working again if possible.
Thanks, Colin

Re: Central locking motor
Ahh, I've seen a few of the slightly smaller ones, the motor body length is around 45mm from memory - one size up (which seem impossible to find unless it's got a special name lost to history and time)

Re: Central locking motor
Rebuild that motor - easiest option.

Re: Central locking motor
I agree. The tags can be bent back and the motors pulled apart. It's often just the brushes fallen apart. I used brushes from an old Scalectrix car motor which were identical. Fiddly old job, but has lasted 5 years.

Re: Central locking motor
That one will need the bearings replaced also. The dodgy bit will be removing the worm drive without it cracking.
I have repaired loads of those small motors as they are used in the Webasto Air Top 2000 heaters in various forms.

Re: Central locking motor
I'll have a play later and see if I can take the motor apart, from looking at it though I think it's rusted solid. The worm drive comes off easily enough though.
Re: Central locking motor
Found a working motor if you want it fella.
