Oil consumption 1.9 DG

Post by Michael4 »

The VW manual states a max consumption of 1.5l per 1000km. Hmmm.
This seems an awful lot? Does it take into account the behaviour of the heavy footed van drivers of the '80s?

I can't make a direct comparison but our 130,000 mile DG seems to consume around half a pint for every 1000 miles  which seems to be something like 0.28l for 600km.

Of course I am delighted but at the same time curious when it comes to the VW figures.

Oil has improved. Unless you still use old tech mineral.

Have you checked for leaks, I have a persistant small leak from the nearside rocker cover, replaced gasket but still need to keep an eye on it as its still there.
