Can someone tell me what part this is

Post by Fun. »

Hi All

Is anyone able to tell me the name of this part of the cooling pipes, it’s the metal one that runs over top of engine. 1.9DG

Also if anyone knows where I can get one, even better.

Thanks in advance.

Fun.

It is a cross-engine pipe for the early 1.9 water-cooled engines.
The number of stubs defines if for carb or early injection.

Obviously the injector version only has the bleed rail pipe, and does not have the thermo switch.

Halfway down page two is your alternative.

I had a spare one. Two years ago lent it to a forum member to make a copper version. Never saw it again, or heard from him since. ln case he is reading this!

That is well out of order Stu. Shame on whoever this is. We like to help each other out on 8090. This person does not deserve to be a member.

To true, Rob. But that is life. :D l won't lose any sleep over it. Yet, it could have helped out the OP, Fun.
I take assurance from the nucleus of rock solid members I know are trustworthy. Such as yourself, Mocki, Stesaw, Hubcap61, Smiffo, Hulley, Weimarbus, Itchyfeet and a host of other members with whom l've enjoyed a playful bit of banter, sound advice and the odd exchange or barter.

There are two different version ( or maybe more ) of that metal pipe, the DG version, the DF version and the DH version , the DG and the DF have different carbs, so pipes different , so make sure you get the correct one
