Full front end replacement

Post by kevtherev »

I'm going to need some advice in fitting three/four large panels.
Which supplier is best and can you get OE?
Removal of the A pillars seems to be the most problematic, but it's more repairable than the others, so it would suggest to only remove the rotted areas.
The front scuttle is gone and the bottom valance to the bumper.
Pictures and methods would be invaluable
Thanks

Probably too late now, but just in case anybody searching comes here, this link might be a good starter.

The restorer is doing waaaaay more than just the front but check the follow-on pages to see a lot of details of what is behind the front panels and how they tackled it (you'll have to go through a lot of other interesting stuff in between). There is also a bit about how they filled in the top of the screen surround  where the roof had rusted out (page 8 I think)

To conclude this thread I went blindly into it and made a few "cock" ups but got there in the end.
Learning from mistakes as I went along.
It seems when you start something that looks massively complex it turns out not so much of either massive or complex.
