Removal of kitchen

Post by PeterOD »

I have a split in the side of my '82 Westy Air-Cooled Brick.

How do I go about removing the internal cupboards fridge etc, the split is just under water-inlet, power-socket etc.

Give me a clue if you can.

I removed all my k i tchen/fridge/units a couple of yrs ago for a respray. It seems daunting at first but it's pretty simple really. General method I used was if you see bolts that look like they are holding any part of the unit to the van remove it - have a wiggle & see where the next bolt is. Most importantly take loads of photos & be methodical. I started at the front & worked backwards but took the fridge out first. Obviously disconnect electrics & any obvious ancillaries first sink trap/plumbing/gas pipes etc. Should be fine but just be aware there are lots of bolts hidden away in weird places!
