What colour?

Post by CoalMarx »

Thanks to my Dad, the body work is now complete on my 1.7 diesel. Its been stressful and a mission: a lot more body work needed than either of us realised and new sills had to be done that we hadn't counted on. Anyhow, I'm lucky to have a dad with 50 odd years experience in the trade who's cut out my bad seams and done a proper job.

It goes into the paint shop a week on Friday so i need to decide on colour before then. Here are a couple pics of where we're up to. Any views on the blues? Currently I'm keen on hot rod flatz steel blue with white bumpers and steel handles like this one (scroll down): TheSamba.com :: Body/Paint - View topic - Hot rod flatz steel blue  I have a nice wood/ white steel roof rack to clean up and put on like a T25 version of the splitty in the picture. Other thoughts are just a standard VW steel blue although i wouldn't be against something a bit more psychedlic :) part of me still wants bright orange instead :)

Good work OP. The usual places, seam gash, windows, arches.

you will be pleased when it is all done and you get your spanners out putting it all back together.

The blue looks great. Will go over the currwnt blue nicely.

Thanks for the ideas. This is the Hot Rod Flatz Steel Blue but Coastal Highway Blue is probably better. Not really keen on the white big boy bumpers for the T25 though. Its going into the paint shop on friday so i'll post pictures once its done.
