Hi, I have a JL3000 which as some of you know is a South African Essex V6 conversion on vans from the factory and sold in the SA VW forecorts, its 1981 and was imported 2 years ago. Its a lovely pulling 4 speed box with loads of torque but the clutch slave cylnder went and im haivng a few issues identifying what the box is, the slave is attached to the housing.
The markings on the box are DL14 051 and CO(or 0)4268 could this mean anything to someone, is it a ford box or VW? am i right in thinking that the slave would have to be a standard VW fitment?
All help is apreciated, thanks!

Re: 3l V6 Ford Conversion
DL is the box identifier.
It is a 4 speed VW box as used on the very early vans.
Manufactured 14th (14) May (05) 1981 (1)
Similar markings layout to this?...
This is my DT box with the similar 6 rib casing style.
It does sound like a standard VW clutch slave unit.
Thankfully not overly expensive, but I would budget for any seized on unions and old pipework.

1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished
