Bodywork
Since I bought my van I’ve always been a bit concerned about the drivers side lower panel. Looks as if a previous owner has been in some sort of scrape, some parts feel hollow and the paint is starting to crack in some places and let water in. Doesn’t look too bad at the minute but just want a rough idea on what it might cost to get properly done before too much water gets in and it starts rotting bad

Re: Bodywork
The price of repairing this will be hard to estimate from a photo and also depends on who is going to do it.
Your best bet is to take it to a recommended welder for an estimate.
An old trick (to give you a rough idea) is to use a magnet on this area to feel the strength of the pull.
Strong magnetism - metal close to surface,
Weak magnatism- filler on surface.
No magnatism - Extra thick filler or maybe no metal.

Prepare for the worst but hope for the best

...and once he does give you an estimate, double it.
Why, because once he starts digging, he'll come across more that needs doing.
£4k incl VAT, my guesstimate.

Re: Bodywork
I think they are quite good photos in that they show quite a lot of wibbles on the panels, and if the other side is the same you’ll probably end up above £4k. The fridge panel looks ropey lower down, which could mean sills too. Deep pockets required

Re: Bodywork
Put a photo up , looking straight at it, ie 90deg to van.
We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.
