My van is currently on 95k miles, What happens after the odometer shows 99,999 miles? there is only 5 digits along with a rolling digit for every 1/10 of a mile.

It goes back to zero and you start again, ours is in the 29,000 for the second time.
The game is trying to catch the point when it zeros (or hits 100k). I've always missed it.

Yep same here,
29,000 for the second time.
It has been that way since the engine blew in Winter 1990.
One day I will finish restoring it and get a few more miles on it.
