Position front mount gearbox to chassis

Post by Nasic »

Hello,

Because we are restorating our vanagon for a while now, i don't remember anything anymore.....

Last week i decided to mount the gearbox and enige.
From what i see you can mount the front gearbox mount on 2 positions on the chasis.

Do i need to bolt it to the left or the right position. Is that depending on the gearbox / engine combination?

I had a look in Haynes and Bentley, but it does not mention anything about the front (gearbox) mount.

The best gauge would be to look at how your linkage lines up.
The linkage should be straight and free moving if the gearbox is in the correct position.

Maybe one day I might get it finished
