Eventually getting around to removing the fuel filter from the engine bay, current set up is the transparent one in the engine bay and another one just ahead of the fuel tank. (I think its a filter and not a valve see image).
The piping between the fuel pump and fuel filter in the engine bay is 1/4 inch or 6mm internal diameter. I intend to replace this piping with the same diameter piping but replacing the filter with an inline plastic connector to connect both pipes which were on either side of the filter. Then replace the what appears to be a filter in the image near the petrol tank with a new transparent filter. Couple of questions, can I use the same diameter piping ie 6mm internal diameter between the fuel tank to the filter and on the other side of the filter, as not sure of this size until I take apart. Have you got rubber petrol pipe from the tank all the way to the engine bay ?
I would suggest the brickwerks kit with the poly pipe and only the ends made of rubber .
You shouldn’t need any joints in the engine bay , one pipe onto the mechanical pump one pipe off to the carb
Thanks Steve, that looks very similar to my existing connection including the poly pipe, but with the filter in the correct place. I may go for the Brickwerks kit instead of messing around with bits here and there.
If you have already got the original poly pipe you only need the rubber from each end , much cheaper . The poly pipe will be good unless it’s physically damaged no need to replace it .
Thanks again, will have to have a closer look at the whole length, as visibility where it goes through the rear bulkhead is a bit restricted. Just to add, if the poly pipe is ok, will the hose I intend using (6MM) internal diameter fit tightly over it.

Rubber fuel hose should be 5.5 or 5.7mm ID so it is a stretch fit over the 6mm pipe.

Bought some 6mm fuel piping from Halfords, marked as 1/4 inch, same as currently on either end of plastic piping so hopefully all will fit when reconnected and get away with difference in diameter as mentioned by bigherb. Had a look underneath and some of the piping is more accessible than others so can see a bit of an issue to separate and reconnect.

I bought some fuel hose from an auto parts store as a short-term fix about 18-24 months ago and replaced recently finding out in the process why the engine bay smelled of fuel. The hose had multiple lengthways cracks which you could only see by squeezing the hose. Now replaced with Brickwerks supplied fuel hose.
The piping from Halfords looks in good condition and states suitable for unleaded and ethanol. Fitted yesterday along with new filter in it's correct place near the fuel tank. Acess was a bit of an issue in places, but the existing polypipe fitted snuggly into the hose and secured with hose clamps for good measure. Removed the what appeared to be a filter as shown in the above image, this had some sort of ball inside it as it rattled when i shook it, anybody have an idea what type of filter it is.
