Fuel Expansion Tank

Post by sauce1001 »

Hi all, I filled my van up a few days ago and noticed a leak coming from the near side expansion tank lines, near the top of the fuel tank.  On investigation I discovered a loose pipe. Could someone have a quick look at these pictures and tell me if I'm on the right track?  Cheers.ImageImage

Forgot to say, it's a 1.9 DG, 1985.

Nope, that's "Shrek's ears", the end of the vent pipe from the top of the vent tank.  That's perfectly correct.

was it a "proper" fill up?  i.e. fill till the pump stops, or a "lets put £20 in" one?

pipe from filler to tank can leak

Hi all, cheers for the replies.  :ok

It was a proper, doubled the vans value, fill up.

I've taken it to a mechanic today who's going to drop the tank to see what's going on.
