Looking for a good reliable garage in Newcastle area

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Looking for a good reliable garage in Newcastle area

Post by wbmkk »

I have a T25 (89 Turbo diesel) which has a broken timing belt

A couple of years ago after the MOT I wanted to start it to take pictures for the agreed value on the insurance, but without luck. A friend eventually came to take a look and said the timing belt was snapped.

The garage where the van has been serviced for quite a number of years, is unable to do the work due to a serious backlog of work  / staff shortages. I asked a colleague who has a similar van for a recommended garage. He suggested the VW Centre in Blyth (previously the Beatle Centre) so I went there today.

Sadly, due to a recent retirement, they no longer work on older vans.

I need somewhere else now, but thought best to ask here .. no doubt other local t25 owners are getting their vans repaired / serviced at some local garages with great success.

Any recommendations please ?

I am in Whitley Bay, but would obviously be prepared to use anywhere in the Newcastle area

thank you !

Addington engineering has been recommended when I was looking, I had mine booked in this week but had to cancel as problem is suspected fuel pump.

Also burnt orange in Whitley bay was recommended on here on a post from a while ago but when I looked into it I couldn't find if they were still going.

Could always have a crack at it yourself? I changed mine a few weeks ago with no pryor experience just using manuals and a lot of help from here. If it's a jx I have the timing tools etc you could borrow

Forgot to say mine is getting towed up to Thomas fuel injection diesel specialist in blyth at the end of the month as he refurbed the fuel pump so I think they also work on them. Seems like a good fella from the contact I've had
