T25 CS 1600 diesel clutch pipe replacement or repair

Post by Paul7502 »

I have been driving today and lost my clutch.

I can put it in gear and start on the starter to get going and then go into second with out using the clutch, so managed to limp home.

There is fluid on the mat below the master cylinder so I will get a new master cylinder.

The pipe from the master to slave is seized at the master end.

There is a serious leak about behind the passenger seat (right hand drive) from the pipe below the van. I assume it is the clutch pipe.

I am wondering if I can fit a new section of pipe by cutting it and just adding a small section or will I need a whole new pipe.

I have not investigated the slave end yet and have had enough for today.

It's an old van and has given me many problems since I put it on the road in January, but I intend to sort all of them in time. Restoration.

What sort of pipe do I need?
Can I buy a complete off the shelf pipe with fittings or do I need to make my own and buy a flare kit?

If I need to make one up ...what size pipe?

( I have had enough for today and going in for a coffee or something stronger.
I blew another injector pipe today as well so bought a NEW set on eBay, last time I bought a second hand set, hopefully that will sort it)

Thanks in advance.

here you go.

you should be able identify the parts you need.

as for buying on ebay - check that the vendor is selling decent quality brands - there are a lot of inferior pattern parts about.

Maybe one day I might get it finished

Sometimes replacing the whole lot is easier, new master and slave and large diameter pipe between.

Thanks for the replies.

The link takes me to a new pipe, just over £30.

I will get the pipe and fit a complete new pipe.

I will wait for the master & slave cylinders.

The master is leaking fluid but that might be down to the fact that the peddle is to the floor and the fluid leaked out of the pipe. Maybe it only leaks when the piston is too far down.

New injector pipes arrived today so will fit those first.

Thanks for the link.

you can't buy the plastic pipe to the master cylinder, be careful removing it

I am trying to buy a clutch pipe from the above link (brickwerks) but I can't go through the pay process and don't know the password to my Google email to which it automatically links to email them, they don't have a phone link (I usually use a different email not linked to my phone).

Is there anywhere else where I can buy this pipe?

Thanks.

Just buy some 6mm brake pipe and a couple of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303284807006 ... media=COPY

Worked fine for me, but only on clutch lines, never on brake lines

Well...Job done...

Got some 6mm pipe, fittings and a flare kit on ebay.

Recommend a flare kit, really easy to do, I've never used one before. New brake pipes on the horizon.

New master cylinder ...job done.

To bleed I had to take the slave cylinder off because I couldn't undo the nipple with it in situ.

I opened the bleed screw with the slave under the van all pipes connected and fluid came out.

Put the slave back in place and a few pumps on the clutch peddle with the bleed screw open and it worked perfectly when I closed the nipple.

Just thought I would add the conclusion for anyone else with similar issues.

Thanks for the responses to my questions.

Over and out.
