Hi all I've had my van over ten great years now but still fined driving on motorways in the wind a bit of a challenge.
I've changed the steering box bushes and the radius rod bushes also the anti roll bar bushes.
What would you change next ? It passed an MOT recently so not much can be worn out .I know they are not the best shape for the wind ( brick) but any recommendations on what worked for you would be great !
Thanks Danny.

Lowering can help a bit, at the cost of comfort.
Has the tracking been done?

Power steering seems to make a huge difference on stability

Re: Aaz 1 .9TD LHD handling in the wind
I am sure I read a long time ago, that many people found the front spoiler kit a good help with buffetting when driving at motorway speeds.
The spoiler improves the air flow around the lower front part of the van.
I am not sure how that works, as it is only a narrow band of plastic compared to the overall surface area of the front of the van.
Did I dream that, or is someone going to confirm that I have not just made that up.?

1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

Thanks for the reply,s
tracking has been done. The van is at standered hight, I prefer the look of the raised vans to be honest so lowering never been in the mix .The van doesn't have a spoiler fitted so that may be worth looking into. But iam wondering now if a new steering box would be worth it LHD ones are available and the one fitted could be original?? But would the MOT pick up on a slack steering box ???.

Poly bush your steering rack and maybe your anti roll bar bushes.
i have A high top van it’s lowered and poly bushes alround and it still moves about with the wind and pass large Vehicles but it’s much better than it was.
also get a four wheel alignment done.
