Has anyone got any experience of using a Decathlon lounge extension instead of a drive away awning? Thought it might be easier and cheaper than trying to fix on an awning and drive back and get the van into the correct position as that sounds tricky for me!

No experience of that model - but we had similar as our first awning.
One thing to point out is the lack of porch over the door - so when it rains you need the door zipped up else the floor by the door gets wet! Gets very tedious very quickly when nipping to or from van to tent. A decent porch (roll out one) makes an ideal covered area between slider and tent

Thanks for this. I think the front can be a roll out? See what you are saying so I hope I can attach it but I was planning to probs pitch it not at the sliding door but a little to one side for extra space - not sure. They are back in stock - only a few left - so have ordered one!
