what type of heater for t25

Post by Siobhan »

Hi
Newbie here - any suggestions of what type of electric heater to buy for my T25 A reg to keep warm in colder spells? I was thinking of one of the small oil filled radiator ones but they are quite heavy - would a small halogen be best?

Thanks
Siobhan

Alright Siobhan, :ok
On the road now?
If you mean when using 240v hook up at a campsite, then using a small thermostatically controlled electric fan heater. One that blows hot and cold air.
The oil heaters are better but take up more storage. General consensus is switch off at night. You decide.
I use a fitted gas propex warm air system in my camper. And if on 240v hook up a heated under blanket to pre warm the bed.
Lovely.

I use a small oil filled radiator which is thermostatically controlled, keeps the van quite warm and can be kept on overnight.  Obviously can only be used on electric hook up.  I boost this in the morning with one of them small cannister gas heaters.  Both easily stowed when not needed.   :ok

Hello,

My 2 euro-cents worth...

When I am at a camping municipale in Winter, I use a (still available) fan heater from Lidl, about 25 €.
I have a mains disjoncteur at 16 amperes.

It will operate at 1000 watts, so ok on old 6 ampere outlets (rare)
It will operate on auto at up to 2000 watts, so ok for 10 ampere outlet.
It shuts down when the temperature is attained.
It has a remote control. It has a safety switch in the base.
I place it on the slope of my walk through, and set it at 14 celcius.

I have exterior window blinds and a pop top that I put down at night.

I have no problems with condensation.

Cordialement,

:ok

Thanks for all your helpful tips. I am not keen on blow heaters as they are so drying and when turned off it gets cold I find. Yes, I meant when on 240v hookup! I am so pleased to have found this site!

We’ve got a little 700W Dimplex radiator with a thermostat that we’ve used a couple of times, which is nice and compact.
